Rebirth

A tree service I use always cuts our crape myrtle in back down to the wood, and every year I wonder if it will survive. Much to my amazement, it always does.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

My favorite iris, posted earlier:

Nikon Z 7 ,Nikkor AF-S 300/4E PF ED VR with FTZ adapter
1/500s f/5.6 at 300.0mm iso160 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

That tree service knows what it's doing - or else the plant is just plain stubborn and determined to survive the worst wounding.

They call it "crepe murder" here.

Our crape myrtle also seems to develop new branches in unexpected places every year. We have let ours branch out into a massive tree. Good luck. Nice lighting for this shot.

Wow, that was cut way back. I guess we need to go further back with ours. We need to see a photo of this when it is in full bloom later in the summer. So nice with this lighting. V
