I had heard and Tim confirmed that there is an enormous amount of construction going on now in Doha, although every time we went there they seemed to be building one more of their fantastic pieces of architecture. Since the city is hosting World Cup 2022 and the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 at the end of this year, new building seems to have reached a frenetic pace.

This view from the Four Seasons Hotel is of The Pearl-Qatar, a four-square-kilometer artificial island for residential use. It’s the only place in Qatar where foreign nationals can own property.
