Here’s lookin’ at you

As I imagine most people have heard, much of the US Northeast is being invaded by billions of Brood X cicadas, who are emerging from the ground after 17 years. The sound of such a swarm is said to reach up to 100 decibels, although that hasn’t started in our neighborhood yet. In fact I really haven’t seen many around here, but we did find a lot of them at Constitution Gardens, among them this little guy, who was nice enough to pose for a picture. I’m generally afraid of insects, but one person was quoted by CBS News as saying, "They really are just big, bumbling, harmless little idiots." I guess we’ll see.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.
