'Squash on Fire'

I caught sight of this fire station in the West End neighborhood of DC. I think it’s attractive, but I’ve never seen a restaurant – or any commercial establishment – in the same building as a fire station. At least if the restaurant has a fire, they should be well protected. As a side note: There are squash courts on the top floor but also a restaurant that advertises breakfast, lunch and dinner on the front of the building.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

OK greases fires in the kitchen will be less of a concern for sure, but I bet folks on the balcony will get a start when those engines pull out in case of a fire.

It is a modern looking and very attractive fire station. It looks like it's a restaurant on top but seems to have a big sign advertising squash facility which seems strange. V

the restaurant may specialize in flambe dishes, offering cut prices for the firefighters...good shot to show how well the building stands out in the area..

That really is unusual. I would imagine it could be noisy if the fire engines have to go out to answer a call with sirens blaring!
