US Capitol Police in force

I imagine the entire police force was in attendance. Taken after the funeral cortege had made its way down the street.

*****

We went down to the Capitol today because I wanted a picture of it through the huge fence that's been erected all around it. I did get a few of those on drive-by, but then we decided to park the car and see what was going on there because the road in front of it was literally packed with police officers and vehicles. It turned out that the Capitol Police were there in force to attend the funeral procession of USCP Officer Brian Sicknick, who died of injuries sustained during the seditious attack on the US Capitol on January 6 after he was reportedly hit in the head with a fire extinguisher. His death was a tragedy, and I'm glad we were there to pay our respects as his hearse passed by.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

Final journey of USCP officer Brian Sicknick, posted earlier:

A tribute. A good way, though tragic, for police to gather in unity after the awful events of the 6th.

Heartbreaking. I hope the new administration is going to address the needs of the poor misled insurrectionists who will no longer have a need to destroy our democracy, a daunting assignment which is going to be very long-term. We have to undo pervasive hatred that has always been there but has only surfaced in such visible numbers since it was magnetically drawn out by a deranged tyrant.
