One last picture of the ZooLights Express to show how festive the truck was. It was paid for by Pepco, our regional electricity provider, which also funds the annual ZooLights at the National Zoo. I think it really did bring some holiday cheer to our city, which is under siege not only by the pandemic but by violent clashes this evening among Trump supporters denying his electoral loss, anti-Trump protestors and the police.
Every year the National Zoo puts on ZooLights, when all their trees are beautifully lit up, with numerous displays of illuminated animals and light shows, drawing enormous crowds. It had to be canceled this year due to the pandemic, so ZooLights has been touring every ward of the city, and tonight was Capitol Hill’s turn. It was a truck covered in lights with a big panda in front and lit-up skateboarders moving alongside it, with a snow machine on board.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.
