Sunbathers

Shot at an enormous distance – almost to the far banks of the very wide Potomac River – but I liked these cormorants (I think they are) sunning themselves on a log. They were the only birds we saw that day.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

The cormorants on the west coast do the same thing. Sometimes they stretch their wings to dry them.
