‘Ave Maria’ in Yucatecan hieroglyphics

There must have been at least 50 of these translations of “Ave Maria” into various languages (some of which I had never even heard of) in the monastery’s passageways, but I found this one the most interesting.

We went back to the Franciscan Monastery in NE Washington because last year there had been lots of butterflies in their garden, and quite frankly, because we couldn’t go anywhere else due to street closures everywhere for protests and other major gardens still being closed on account of the pandemic.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

those must be post conquest hieroglyphs, as they certainly aren't Mayan...good clean look at the European propaganda likely designed to persuade the locals to change religious allegiance..
