This Victorian house on Mass. Avenue and 10th Street NE used to host a blacksmith and forge in the basement. The owner said before they renovated the basement, there was a slate floor and furnace there, and that horses were kept in his front yard as well as the yards of what are now several houses down the street.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
