Pay to play?

This is the other new hotel on the Diplomatic Quarter, the Radisson Blue, which also didn’t exist when we lived there. But what’s amazing about this picture is the existence of a parking meter and pay-to-park lot, neither of which did I ever see anywhere in Saudi Arabia. Tim said there were two parking meters on the street, right in front of the parking lot, which was totally empty. I can say pretty surely that Saudis would never agree to pay to park their cars, so maybe the meters are meant to be used by foreigners.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

The meter does look lonely :) Interesting that there are so many changes in the short time since you left. V

What I find interesting are the numbers on the street. They remind me of a childhood game we played called "Potsy"...or perhaps Hopscotch had the same kind of diagram.
