This woodpecker came out of nowhere and was subsequently joined by a friend, which I later photographed. Too bad he must have been moving his head, but I still think Tim got off a good first shot.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

We decided to take a drive out to Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens, situated 15 minutes from home near the DC-Maryland border. Although we always go for the annual water lily and lotus festival, we thought we'd see what was there in advance of it. It was disappointing that there weren't many birds, but we did find a few other things of interest to photograph.
