There were some water lilies in bloom, and although pretty, most of them were a bit beat up. I’m sure there will be more opportunities during the upcoming festival.

We decided to take a drive out to Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens, situated 15 minutes from home near the DC-Maryland border. Although we always go for the annual water lily and lotus festival, we thought we'd see what was there in advance of it. It was disappointing that there weren't many birds, but we did find a few other things of interest to photograph.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
