The well-coiffed heron

I can’t even imagine how those back feathers got pulled together into a “ponytail” like that, but it’s very stylish.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Maybe something got tangled up in the feathers . We see sometimes some fishing gear get caught up in or around the beak.
