Shah-i-Zinda is a necropolis in the northeastern part of Samarkand whose more than 20 mausoleums and other ritual buildings date from the 9th to 19th centuries.
I hated to leave the tour guide’s hand in the photo but didn’t want to cut out so much of the beautiful tilework. It seems people were really awed by the beauty they encountered at this complex.
