When we returned home from Riyadh in 2016 after being overseas for six years, we had to remove our 30-year-old dogwood due to a fatal disease and replaced with a young crape myrtle, which has been beset by problems since it was planted.
It produced only one bloom this year, and this is it. A crape myrtle in full bloom in the tree box on the sidewalk is in the background.
