A brief detour from the farm animal sanctuary: I got a new lens, a Nikon 300mm f4 VR, which is considerably lighter than my 80-400mm and thus a relief for me. I’m still learning how to use it as well as continuous drive, never having done that before, but have taken it out a few times to the park. After several days of incorrect settings and an inability to even find any birds due to the high grass, I managed to get a few shots today (after the grass was cut). This was taken with my D850 in DX mode, which at least makes it easier to see the birds.
