A quick detour from my arboretum gallery.
I’ve been struggling to get decent bird shots with the new Sony, trying to figure out what works. I took a huge number of pictures at the park today, using various focus area modes, and got a few keepers (finally). I’ve been practicing on starlings because I think they’re beautiful when in the right light, but also because they’re hard for me to capture since they’re constantly on the move, and thus a good challenge to see if I can learn how to use continuous drive. Robins will often just sit and pose, and sparrows take off as soon as they land. They’re about the only birds we have in our park.
