Earlier, I had seen a starling carrying leaves into a hole in a tree located very close to this dogwood, where I guess there’s a nest. This could have been that same starling, gathering a present for the kids.
I’m still struggling to get long-distance captures with the Sony. Out of many taken, this was only one of two that halfway turned out. Luckily there were a number of starlings in this tree, squabbling with each other and engaging in aerial battles (which I didn't even try to capture), so I was able to take as many test pictures as I wanted, although the blossoms and branches tended to get in the way.
