Once a brothel, now a private home (1890)

This house served as a brothel for 20 years, run by a woman named Montgomery, and then was the home of the US ambassador to the Soviet Union. It is now owned by another person who gave me some history about the place. Too bad about the stop lights, but it was the only way I could get the house from this perspective, which shows what a beautiful (and large) building it is.

Handsome and substantial building! Traffic lights are part of the landscape and do not really damage the view of the manse from this pov. Trees are helpfully bare. V

That's quite a large structure for a brothel, I wonder if it was a rooming house originally, then fell to brothel? It's a beautiful place. V

business must have been good to maintain such a solid, stylish building...peeling paint adds an attractive aspect too..
