We finally visited the District Wharf, a new development on the Anacostia River. It’s mainly restaurants and entertainment venues, as well as a place to just hang out on the water, but a welcome change from the derelict area that used to exist here. There are plans to expand it even further into a major attraction for tourists and residents alike.
This was called the bonfire and actually lights up when people are sitting around it, although you can’t see the flames in this capture.
