Antalya, fluted minaret mosque

Antalya is an internationally popular resort city located on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast and bordered by the Taurus Mountains. It was first settled around 200 B.C. by the Attalid dynasty of Pergamon, which was soon subdued by the Romans, who built numerous monuments during their rule.

Yivli Minare Mosque (fluted minaret mosque) was built in 1230 during the reign of Seljuk Sultan Aladdin Keykubad I. It was destroyed in the 14th century and rebuilt in 1373 on the foundation of a Byzantine church.
