Crossroads

This is the start of another trip to eastern Turkey, and again I’m doing it in reverse (I guess I like the destination pictures best ;-)). We actually drove from Ankara along the Black Sea coast to the Georgian border, then to Erzurum, Ağrı and Van in the far east, near Iran. From there I got the bright idea that I wanted to see Edirne in the far northwest corner, on the Greek and Bulgarian borders, so we drove 1,472 kilometers (915 miles) further (after half of that to get to Van) to the complete opposite side of the country.

What a journey you must have had. Such fantastic landscape and I would guess, off the tourist track. V

Whoa, You bet I'd be checking out my road map around there! One false turn and you won't believe the rest of your day! My first thought would be ... WTF am I?
