I had always thought this was a “Crusader castle” in southern Adana province, but apparently it’s a late 12th-13th century fortress called Yılankale in Turkish (Levonkla in Armenian), possibly built by King Leo (Levon) the Magnificent of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia.
