Moonshine – originally slang for high proof distilled spirits usually produced illicitly without government authorization – can now be produced legally in the US and is defined as clear, unaged whisky.

I had never even seen it before, but it’s simply everywhere in Tennessee. We did go into a distillery out of curiosity and bought a jar of it (it’s sold in Mason jars). I’m sure we’ll never drink it, but it makes for an interesting conversation piece.
