Warped

A couple of silly pictures that I just happen to like. I think it’s clear from this that it isn’t just my lens that is distorting the doors here. In fact, I was photographing another door near the National Museum today and couldn’t figure out why my capture was so off. Then I looked at the frame, and it was very lopsided. I feel a bit vindicated now ;-). This was taken in a very dark room meant for some video, although it wasn’t playing for us.

We’re leaving tomorrow night, and before then I have to repack all my clothes and other belongings, wash the embassy’s linens, clear out the refrigerators, clean up the piles of sand Sahraa has deposited all around the house in the one day since our housekeeper was here and anything else that needs doing. I’ll have my laptop until the bitter end, though, so will probably still be around Pbase till evening. It will be a long and difficult trip, especially for Sahraa…

We went out today for one last tour of Riyadh, even to a very rich new neighborhood, so I now have even more pictures left than before. As I said on a previous picture, these Saudi galleries will be continuing for the foreseeable future!

A very cool image, Helen! I can't image what all you must have to do before leaving. I will be happy when you are back home safe and Sahraa is once again a happy girl...
