For anybody who thinks it doesn’t rain in Saudi Arabia, believe me, it does. This is the view from our front door during a very heavy downpour this afternoon, complete with thunder and lightning and a very cool temperature (18 C, 64 F). I forgot that our bedroom sliding glass door was open, so part of a carpet got soaked (but luckily no real flooding). The big problem here with rain is that there's no drainage or grading to speak of, so the water doesn't run off the porch but rather inside the house.
