The heraldic bat, Parc de la Ciutadella

Detail in the magnificent arch at the entrance to the Parc de la Ciutadella, 70 acres of green space that include the city zoo, the Catalonian parliament building, a small lake, museums and a famous fountain. The bat figured prominently in the heraldry of some towns in the former Crown of Aragon, including Barcelona.
