This is being posted in fun, but like I said I’m desperate for new pictures ;-).

Saudi women generally don’t wear flashy shoes with abayas but instead seem to favor sneakers, although some of them are pretty vividly colored. I decided to go with the flow and had Tim buy me some tennis shoes in Washington, not really for spicing up abayas but because I had absolutely no casual shoes here other than my Birkenstocks, which aren’t appropriate for things like hiking in the wadi, or hiking anywhere for that matter. I love them all but think I’ll return the pair on the right to Nordstrom as they just aren’t flashy enough! The teal ones were incredibly hard to get, but Amazon had them, and the gray and pink ones were at the US military base here. Amazing.
