On the road, Fes to Erfoud

Sadly leaving Fes and its medina behind, we spent a large part of the day traveling to Erfoud, an oasis town in the Sahara Desert, passing through an amazing variety of landscapes on the way.

Rostom, our driver, had told us about some mountain pass where dogs are lined up on the side of the road, waiting for the morning buses to drive through. Apparently the bus drivers throw food out for them every day. This was one of the many hopefuls we saw, but unfortunately we had no food to give it (and we weren’t in a bus, anyway).

A green scene with the Middle Atlas Mountains in the distance, posted earlier:

Wish the dogs had owners and homes...
