The Karaouiyine Mosque was established in 859 and is one of the oldest and most illustrious mosques in the western Muslim world. It was also the first university to be founded in Morocco and still remains the seat of the Muslim university of Fes.
This will be a series of photos of the mosque from two sides of it (and above it) taken at different points in time. We of course weren’t able to go inside, which was a pity as I’m sure it was magnificent. It was also one of those places that was a challenge to photograph due to the crowds and close quarters, but I think Tim got some great captures.
