This had to be one of the most fascinating purpose-built buildings I’ve ever seen. We had caught sight of it from afar, and couldn’t even imagine what it was, like a football or something? It turned out to be the headquarters for the Al-Gannas (Falconry) Society of Qatar and was designed in the shape of a hood put on a falcon to keep it calm. The guard (barely visible) saw me struggling to find the right perspective and was motioning me to move this way and that, to cross the street, and finally I got what I wanted.
