There were quite a few snow-themed window displays in the two malls we visited yesterday. Perhaps in a desert country, snow is seen as something romantic and desirable. Actually, I have heard that it does sometimes snow in the far north, in Tabuk, near the Jordanian border, but I haven’t yet seen it for myself. At least I know I can buy cold-weather clothes in Riyadh if we ever decide to go there!

The “snowmen” were made from paper cups, which I thought was a cute idea.
