This was taken while standing on a very windy Al Elb Dam in Diriyah, the area surrounding which seems to be a favorite picnic spot with the locals. It’s not a new abaya, but it’s one of my favorites. Although it’s all black, the sleeves are made entirely of lace, as is the hood, and it’s comfortable and elegant and can be worn most anywhere. I have posted pictures of abayas worn without headscarves (because I hate wearing them, mainly because they won't stay on my head!), but this is how I appear in public most of the time.
