Asma Bint Alawi Mosque, pavilion

We stumbled across this beautiful mosque – Asma Bint Alawi -- quite by accident as I had seen the dome from the road and wanted to a get closer look. We were pretty surprised when we saw what was through the front gate!

I imagine this pretty pavilion might be used for ablutions before prayer.

I have more pictures than the four I uploaded today of this mosque, but will wait until I do a mosque sub-gallery to post the rest of them.

It's modern looking but with a great connection to the past. Again, it is all so neat and clean in Oman. Wish we could say the same about our country.
