This was a most unusual public art installation: On the inland road to our hotel, in the middle of nowhere, there were two gold stallions on very large, very substantial pillars, on either side of the roadway, along with Omani flags. Then on the center strip were these two horses. There didn’t appear to be an building nearby that they were marking, it was like a gateway of horses to the rest of the road. Very perplexing but impressive to pass through.
