Traditional-style gate

But obviously new construction.

This latest series of what will probably be eight images were taken while we were walking with the sons of our hosts to see the construction under way on the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This was the entrance to some grounds, part of which were a park, with the gate styled like a traditional one, which I understand is now required for any construction here. I was walking with one of the sons (we kept falling behind), and some family in the park invited me to join their picnic. I thought that was pretty nice!

I can see why they require those gorgeous ornamental gates. They're beautiful...and the craft should live on.

I love the colors of the stone and the textures of the stone and wood. I'm glad to hear you're meeting some nice people and are able to photograph without trying to hide what you're doing. V
