We were taken to an enormous souk at the camel festival, where one could buy pretty much every kind of camel gear imaginable. I didn’t bring anything home with me as I don’t have a camel (yet ;-)), but in retrospect some of these things might make interesting decorations.
We weren't able to visit the camel souk itself, unfortunately, where camels are bought and sold.
The camel accoutrements are all made by hand, and some of the women who make them were working at the souk, although it was impossible to photograph them. I believe the festival lasts for 44 days, and so many of the people involved in it, including those with concessions at the souk, pitch their tents and live on the grounds for the entire time.
An interesting article talking about the Bedouin handicrafts sold at this souk: http://www.saudigazette.com.sa/index.cfm?method=home.regcon&contentid=2010121189055
