Great Mosque minaret

This was the first photograph I ever took of this mosque -- I found the style of the minarets quite fascinating and so very different from what I had seen in Turkey and Dubai. It's just what I would expect to see in the desert and reminiscent of architecture in Yemen that I have (only, unfortunately) seem pictures of. Little did I know I'd go back again and again to get more captures of it.

A very interesting Minaret nicely captured. I wonder if others in the area bear this design.

The architecture seems to go well with the harsh terrain of a desert. I'm sure you'll be aware of prayer time !! V

A modern, imposing structure. Is that a speaker in the opening? V
