The same windows at the Great Mosque on the DQ that I had photographed before, but this time I tried a different perspective and wasn’t so nervous about being caught photographing a mosque. It seems to be OK from the outside.
Non-Muslims aren’t allowed to enter mosques in Saudi Arabia, which is a pity because they can be beautiful houses of worship. Non-Muslims also aren’t allowed to enter the holy cities of Makkah (Mecca) and Madinah (Medina). I found a picture of a fascinating and very explicit highway sign that I want to photograph myself, although it’s about an eight-hour drive from here and close to Jeddah (and we may never actually drive there), so am leaving a link to it for the time being:
