The 17th century Drottningholm Palace is located an hour's ferry ride from Stockholm, on Lake Mälaren, and this time our cruise was delightful, with the sun shining and a mostly blue sky. The palace, together with its theater, park and Chinese pavilion, has been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage list. The interior was lavish, but no photos were permitted, unfortunately. The royal family lives in apartments in a wing of the palace that is not open to the public.
