Created after a photograph captured in 1945 by news photographer Joe Rosenthal of Marines raising a flag on Mt. Suribachi on Iwo Jima. This is a shot of the real Mt. Suribachi http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/68750359 and where the flag was erected http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/68750352, captured during a special trip I was allowed by the Marine Corps to take to Iwo Jima in 2003.
