This one requires a bit of explanation. We were invited to the annual ceremony commemorating the victims of the Battle of Iwo Jima, in which there were horrific losses on both sides. These Humvees were the transportation around the island for the ranking Marine general in attendance and for my husband, who was US Consul General in Okinawa at the time.
