This was designed by the famous Hungarian architect Ödön Lechner in the Secession style, a variation of Art Nouveau that incorporates elements of Hungarian folk art and which became the Hungarian national style. Kecskemét itself is a charming town, with exquisite architecture, but this structure is the reason I wanted to visit. Unfortunately it was dark and freezing, so another trip in better weather is in order.
