Wreckage of the 08/25/77 Hutch Air crash on the 1801 lava flow at Kona International Airport. Two (2) fatalities.

Investigations apparently not as thorough as now or that would have been lifted out for testing !! Hard to think of it as nice when someone lost their life...it is indeed derelict now.

Nice catch, there is a small airplane on Mt Rainier, though more scattered, under snow much of the year, and way off trail.
