When we moved in our home two years ago there were no flower beds. I have always had lots of flowers and this was a big challenge for us. We started out with a weeping cherry tree that we planted last year with the vision of a flower bed in the front area. The biggest problem was all the weeds and grass in that area, but with lots of back-breaking effort we finally removed them
all. Next came building up the flower bed and adding good soil. Here in Georgia sitting on top of a hill we have red clay so we had to do lots of digging and preparing the soil.
We were blessed with some help...Our daughter, Lori, and our son, Jerome, were life-savers. When we brought home a ton of rocks our grandson, Chris, and his girlfriend, Amanda, helped Jess, Lori, and myself unload them. Chris also has volunteered to help with the walkway when we are ready to start on it. At the present time we are still finishing up the flower bed.
The pictures that follow are taken as we work. It is still an ongoing project so please come back and see the final outcome.
Thanks Sis...Taking a break is in the future. :-)
I am really dreading getting started with the walkway,
but at the same time looking forward to the outcome. First
comes some work in the backyard then back to the front to
finish the front flower bed. Thanks for taking a look at
the progress.
