Eastern Ontario

One of three rare/threatened Piping Plovers along a beach; includes a most rare nesting pair for this area. This is reportedly one of the nesting pair. It was foraging for food along the water's edge, whilst its partner was attending the nest located in a roped-off area. The third Plover could be seen further down the beach..

A great chance to photograph these birds. I was able to see them in Nova Scotia where volunteers monitor their nesting areas.
