Four images of a "Cheeky Squirrel playing with fire, so to speak.
The past few days I and others have posted images of a Squirrel getting up close to a small Screech Owl. Many comments on the images expressed surprise that the Squirrel dared to get so close.
Presently, the four images shown are of poor quality; however, they show how a daring Squirrel gets inquisitive with and close to a big Great Horned Owl.
Top Image: The Squirrel approaches the sleeping Owl from the right, as if to converse with it.
The Squirrel decides not to try his luck too far and departs up the tree.
The Squirrel descending on a trunk on the other side of the tree, still quite close to the Owl.
The Squirrel stops to get a better look at the owl and seems to taunt it; however, the Owl pays it no heed and seems more interested in us photogs on the ground beneath.
