Yesterday, in jest, I posted an image of the Map Turtle with an Owl perched on its back. Presently I'm posting three different views of the Northern Map Turtle, a first ever sighting of one for me.
Top Image:A closeup of the Map Turtle's head and neck.
A side view.
Front view, clearly showing the contour like lines, similar to those used in topographical maps: hence, the name, Map Turtle.
