Two images of Razorbills. Razorbills are similar to Murres plumage but a bit smaller in size. Adults have a deep bill with a vertical white line. They are not as common as Murres. There are reportedly only about 150 nesting pairs of Razorbill at Cape St Mary's. This compares to 10,000 nesting pairs for the Common Murres, and 1,000 nesting pairs for the Thick-billed Murres. I was not able to identify any Thick-billed Murres but did manage some shots of Razorbills.
Top image: One Razorbill by itself on a rock ledge.
A second Razorbill near several Common Murres. The Razorbill appears quite small; however, when they stand up and have their back to you, they are difficult to distinguish from the Murres.
