Two more snapshots of part of a huge flock of Snow Geese. (See also http://www.pbase.com/image/133580396 )
Top image: After being spooked by something which caused the entire flock to fly off with the sound of a jet engine and blanketing the sky-line, many Geese have returned to roost. Some are still flying towards the roosting area and a large number are still flying far off.
A closer shot of the Geese returning to the roosting area of ice along the shore.
Note: I drove back to the area today (2 hour drive) with my wife hoping to let her see this phenomena and to take some more shots. However, the Geese had all left and the ice along the shore had completely disappeared. We took a scenic rout back, along the river and I spotted my first Loon for this season, plus it was a beautiful day for a drive.
